Chased by a Shark
02:32

I picked up Debbie from the corner soda shop
We drove my car towards the ocean 'til the cop said we hadda stop
We threw our boards in the water and we kicked through the surf
We didn't stop to think that we were leaving our turf
Then Debbie made a noise and a monster rose outta the earth!
We're being chased by a shark!
He's got real big teeth!
We're being chased by a shark!
He's pulling Debbie beneath!
Oh yeah!
I tried to go catch him but he was swimmin' way too fast
I saw a piece of Debbie's board and I knew that shark had made it his snack
I thought of all the love me and Debbie had had
And knowin' that shark had her started makin' me mad
And then he flashed right by me and I grabbed his fin and rode on his back!
I'm being chased by a shark!
He's got real big teeth!
I'm being chased by a shark!
He's pullin' Debbie beneath!
Oh yeah!
I squeezed the shark's gills and I forced him to come up for air
I noticed that shark, on his back he had a lot of hair
I put my hands round his throat and shouted "Shark, you're dead!"
And when he looked at me I saw my Uncle Ted!
He fooled us by holding his hand like a fin on his head!
We're being chased by a shark!
He's got real big teeth!
We're being chased by a shark!
He's pulling Debbie beneath!
We're being chased by a shark!

Grapefruit Margarita

It was a white-hot day out on the beach in Panama City
But the clouds flew in and the wind got might windy
Mama grabbed our stuff and said "The sky it don't look pretty"
"Let's pile in the van and find some queso thin and drippy."
Where can we go to get a grapefruit margarita?
A touch of Cointreau and a dash of Blanco Tequila
With grapefruit and lime, simple syrup as a sweeten 'er
Where can we go to get a grapefruit margarita?
Daddy's GPS said there's a place called El Carcome
Only 10 minutes south, we'd be there before the storm came
When we walked in the door the senora said "What's your name?"
Yelling too loud, Grandpa screamed, "Blasingame, but right now you can call me Hunger Pain!"
All that we want is a grapefruit margarita!
A touch of Cointreau and a dash of Blanco Tequila
With grapefruit and lime, simple syrup as a sweeten 'er
Where can we go to get a grapefruit margarita?
When we finally sat down, Grandma said we were ready to order
"We want a bucket of chips with some guac from down south of the border!"
But the waitress she said, "I'm sorry but you'll have to re-order!"
Grandma said "Why?" the waitress said "I have a hearing disorder!"
Where can we go to get a grapefruit margarita?
A touch of Cointreau and a dash of Blanco Tequila
With grapefruit and lime, simple syrup as a sweeten 'er
Where can we go to get a grapefruit margarita?

Well I stepped onto the charter with the captain and the crew
Wearin' a sleeker version of my birthday suit
Left my lotion and my snorkel sittin safely on the shore
When we get to open water I'll be flinging out my lure!
I'm deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
Deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
You won't see a tannin line on me-o
Cuz I'm deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
I tipped the captain extra to secure a solo sail
We'll need the extra seating once I'm reeling in some tail.
The deckhand's rubbin' bronzer up and down my ivory skin
When we anchor at the reef I'll be a-meetin' my fish friend!
I'm deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
Deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
You won't see a tannin line on me-o
Cuz I'm deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
The captain swears I'll be our boat's most appealin' bait
I'll find 2 pretty mermaids for my first and second ma-a-a-ate!
I'm deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
Deep sea fishin' in a speedo!
You won't see a tannin line on me-o
Cuz I'm deep sea fishin' in a speedo!

The sun kissed the ocean, the waves met the sand
As I strolled through the water, with my love in my hands.
My eyes reached for objects, for glimmery gold
And a change in the echo spoke of bounties below.
I shifted positions, stooping lower I bent
And my love beckoned onward ever sure of the scent
I hastened my footsteps, and side-stepping a chair
I fell into a woman, sunning herself there.
It wasn't your beauty, your charm or your name
That lured my pale presence like a moth to the flame
It wasn't your voice, singing softly and true
But 'twas my metal detector that led me to you.
"I'm sorry," I fumbled, "I meant you no harm"
"It's alright," you managed, still clutching your arm.
How could I ask forgiveness, after putting her out?
"Just help with my items - they're scattered wildly about."
It wasn't your beauty, your charm or your name
That lured my pale presence like a moth to the flame
It wasn't your voice, singing softly and true
But 'twas my metal detector that led me to you.
I flew to her parcels and prayed their safe-keeping,
But as I picked up her potions, I detected a beeping.
So I flung down her knick-knacks and dashed toward the spring,
And 'neath a hermit crab's burrow, I uncovered the ring.
It wasn't your beauty, your charm or your name
That lured my pale presence like a moth to the flame
It wasn't your voice, singing softly and true
But 'twas my metal detector that led me to you.
The diamond it dazzled in its salty, sea-shrine
And it bore an inscription, "O Virtue Be Thine".
Your joy in the rhinestone was true in your plea:
"Gift the band to me, and yours ever I'll be."
And now we're one body in our manor on the shore,
And though our desires are all granted, the gem still brings more.
And ever after we will amble, embraced in our unity,
As we roam the sands together, my sweet detector, and me.
